What began in 1991 as a small remediation and abatement company in a residential garage in the City of Alameda with just a handful of committed employees, a couple of service vans and concentration almost exclusively on residential asbestos abatement work, Bluewater Environmental Services has grown into one of the Bay Area’s premier, full circle construction abatement/remediation and recycling operations.

Chris Kirschenheuter, President & CEO
Chris is responsible for the overall management of the company. He provides direction, focus and consistency. He provides executive leadership to all administrative and operational activities; and provides project estimation and project management oversight to several key house accounts. Chris leads the sales team and continuously works to develop and adjust organizational vision. Chris held very rewarding positions with Santa Fe Drilling and Barsotti’s, Inc. before establishing Bluewater with his brother Todd. Chris was recently named President of the Association of Environmental Contractors (AEC).
Todd Kirschenheuter, Vice President
Todd has responsibility for facilitating best practices, field production and yard operations. Much like Chris, Todd has several key customers that he provides project estimation and project management oversight. In addition, Todd reviews bids and field production approaches being deployed by project managers, superintendents and field supervisors. He possesses a keen eye for the setup and execution of site operations.
Bernard Garcia-Keegan, COO/CFO
Bernard leads and supports 10 department managers in the daily administration and operations of human resources, accounting, general office, marketing, fleet service, transportation and recycling, warehouse and dispatch at both the San Leandro and Newark facilities. He possesses a Master’s of Public Administration and certificate in Human Resources. Prior to joining Bluewater, Bernard held successful and rewarding leadership positions at Superior Court of California - San Mateo County and Coyote Point Museum for Environmental Education.
